Four simple cards

This last days I haven't been very creative.
Work and school and mum and working out,
boy the days go bye so fast.

I want to show you some more simple cards I have made lately.
I am still fighting the urge to over-embellish,
but I am finally getting some use out of a lot of great left over paper.

The paper is from Poppy design, I love it!
I made like a little doily or something, I had to stop myself at the end,
it was getting very tall. :p

This adorable paper is so fun, but I struggled a bit more with this card.
The sentiment is a sticker. I embellished with Prima flowers and swirl,
and a flower ribbon. I used a lot of Candy Cane Stickles.

Here I used Magnolia Paper. Just love this one.
The bird I have been holding on to for a while.
I finally used it now, and debated with myself for a long time about
what to do. I ended up covering it with swirls, pearls and Stickles.

And finally a birthday card. I was really not inspired when I  made this,
but I had the image lying ready to go, and I needed a card for a man,
so I whippet this up.

Thank you all for bothering to visit me,
I really appreciate it!
Hope you are having a wonderful fall.
Here it has been raining a lot,
but today seems like a good day,
so hopefully I'll have the time to sneak out.

Christmas Matches

I made this a while ago, just haven't showed it yet.
It is a box with matches inside,
decorated for Christmas.

The papers are last years Christmas collection from Pion.
I layered with a book page, cheese cloth and a doily.

The image is from Pion too, I think.
The "knobs" are from Tim Holtz.

I embellished with Berries from Panduro,
Tim Holtz pearls, die cuts, a snowflake charm,
some roses from Storyteller, pearls from Wild Orchid Crafts,
and a swirly-thingie from Kort og Godt.
I used some gold Stickles on the roses.

Hiking Edwin

A sweet blog friend mailed me some images of Edwin
after I commented on her beautiful card that this image was
just lovely and on my wishlist.

That is one of the things I love about blogging and scrapping,
people are so giving and kind and love to share both materials,
inspiration, help and sweet comments.

I started inking him up at once,
my fiancees brother turned 22 this week,
and he has become quite outdoorsy and sporty the last years.

The papers I used are all from Pion.
It was not the side with the trees that made me buy that sheet of paper,
I never imagined I would ever use that side, but this time
it felt just right.
The tag was hanging on some clothing I bought for Sofie.

I painted Edwin with my Distress Reinkers.
Hair: Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.
Skin: Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany.
Clothes: Pumice Stone for the sweater and Stormy Sky or Faded
Jeans for his pants, I cant remember.
Shoes: Walnut Stain.
Backpack and cane: Vintage Photo, Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint,
Black Soot and Pumice Stone.
I shaded the clothes with Black Soot.
The ground is Peeled Paint and Pine Needles,
and I used Wethered Wood and Black Soot around Edwin.

I used Cherry Blossoms from WOC. The lace, berries and other flowers I
think are from Storyteller. The arrow is from Panduro, I added a pearl in the middle.
I used a swirl die cut, and a ticket from Tim Holtz.
Some stapled details and cheese cloth behind the image.

A Season of Love

My very first Magnolia Christmas card of the season!
Again, I struggled so hard with the colors and papers
and embellishments. I don't get why Christmas cards
in red are so  hard for me to do. I never have the right papers,
and nothing ever gets right.
I was happy with the result though, until my fiancee said
that I should use a girl that looks older,
because people think the is just a child.
So what, it my reply. :p

I used old papers I had lying for a year or three,
from My Minds Eye and Bo Bunny, I think?
Behind the image I have a layer with an old book page,
and several strips of tape that I just bought at Panduro.
I also used a bit of cheese cloth.

I tried something different in coloring this time.
I have a hard time with red, because I don't want it to look
pink. Usually I go with Aged Mahogany for Christmas,
but this time I tried Fired Brick, a color I usually think is to orange,
so I never ever use it. But I knew that the colors wary on what paper you use,
so I tried a bit on this one, and went with Fired Brick.
I did some shading with Black Soot. The apron, fur and other white areas are shadowed
with Pumice Stone. Her skin is Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo, and Victorian Velvet
for blush. Her hair is Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain.

I have this set of stickers that I love but never managed to use,
and now I think I can, this one just felt right with the colors etc.
Love the sentiment on it.
I added a little pearl, and some Diamond Stickles.

I used a pearls from Tim Holtz, berries from Kort og Godt,
roses from Wild Orchid Crafts,
and some Diamont Stickles.
A couple of swirl die cuts,
and my Martha Stewart Lacy Heart puncher.

This is what the card looks like inside.
I used some doilies, I also have one on the front
but I think I covered it all up. :p

The bottle is from Panduro, I put some Martha Stewart glitter in it,
and glued the cork on.
Some twine from WOC is tied around, and the pieces end in two reindeer
charms from Kutt Ut. In my head the bottle contains magic powder that makes
the reindeer fly. Yeah, seriously, that`s what I was imagining when I made this. :p
But I think the whole twine and reindeer-thing looks messy to anyone else...

Pink and purple *CLP DT*

I am writing this on sunday, and tomorrow I have to get up at
4 a.m. to catch the plane my sister in law calls "the way to early plane".
I am going to Bodø to start the school year with the first gathering of the
semester. For you who don't know, I am studying to be a teacher,
and I am doing it with internet and gatherings at the university.
This is my third year, and this is bachelor year! I am sooo dreading it!

This card is for a girl in Sofie's kindergarten, she is having
a birthday party tomorrow (or last Monday, if you will).
I asked her what her favorite colors where.
Pink and purple, she told me without hesitating.
My kind of card-receiver!

This card is my interpretation of this weeks gorgeous sketch
over at CLP Challenges. Come join us! :)

I colored Tilda with my Distress Reinkers.
The skin is Tattered Rose, Vintage Photo and Aged Mahogany.
Her hair is Antique Linen and Vintage Photo.
The dress is Victorian Velvet, and the shoes are Walnut Stain.
The Teddy is Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Black Soot and Pumice Stone.
I shadowed around the image with Weathered Wood.
I used some Star Dust Stickles,
and dotted Liquid Pearl around the frame.

I used some swirly die cuts that I got from a friend,
a doily, pink pearls, and flowers and twine from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The number 5 is from American Crafts.
The swirls and some flowers have Star Dust on them.

The curly branch is from Kort og Godt,
I have a Prime flower, a tulip from Papirloftet,
and pins and flowers from WOC.

The papers are from Maja and Magnolia.
The letters are from My Little Shoebox.
I used some cheese cloth,
my Martha Stewart lacy heart puncher,
and a flower charm.
The letters are covered with Crackle Accents,
mostly to make sure they stick.
