Baby Boy Baptism

My fiance´s aunt asked me to make a card for
a baptism. This is what I came up with.
The baby´s mother is my fiance´s cusin,
and I was so disappointed when she told me what
she was going to name the baby. Completely irrational,
but Håkon was the name we had as a backup in case
Sofie was a boy, and we always intended to use it if we
ever had a boy. It was the name of his grandfather,
and the middle name of his father, so it would have been
very special to use. But hey, we have no guarantee of
ever having a boy, I'm not even pregnant, so we just
have to be to have a little Håkon in the family. :)

The papers I have used are from Maja Design and Magnolia.
I used a square doily, lace and cheese cloth from Ribbon Girl.
The flag pole is a paper straw, I added a blue crown pin
to the top.

The big metal corners was embossed,
and I used flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The film strip and leaf dies are from Tim Holtz.

The big flower is from Prima. The die swirl-leaf was embossed,
painted white, I added pearls and then covered it with Star Dust Stickles.
I added some acrylic paint to all the flowers.

I seem to have forgotten how to paint, so I had to try twice to
get a proper image. Guess I need to color more.
I used Distress Reinkers.
Aaand I am totally in love with embossing.
I used a Magnolia Swirl Stamp and embossed white around the edges,
before I added chunky white Frantage and embossed some more...
I also used Chalkboard Glimmer Mist, and Star Dust Stickles.

The letters are dies from Memory Box.

Special Friend Gift Bag

I made a gift bag for my best friends birthday gift,
using left over paper pieces and lots of layers.
I also went a little crazy playing with fran-tage,
because I finally invested in a heat gun and embossing products!
I love to make things shabbyer and change how they look,
but I have very little patience in waithing for sticky
paint and glitter that need to dry before the card is finished.
Also I just love the snowy sparkle dusty effect on images,
so I was very eager to test it.

The paper are mixes of left over paper, some Pion and Inkido I think.
I distressed and curled the edges.
I layered with cardboard and cheese cloth.

The stamp is from Lily of the Vally,
embossed with Black Soot.
I used Chunky White and Black around the edges of the dies.
The die is the Magnolia Dream Tag. The back piece is covered
in white glitter.

The heart button, lace, pearl  and pearl string
and string are from Ribbon Girl.

I used roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, little fans from Kort og Godt,
a doily, and a little clip from Tim Holtz. The charms was made
and given to me by a friend.

I also got new swirl dies from Tim Holtz. I used old book pages
and more Fran-tage.

Royal Celebration Tilda

So I won one of the Comment Magnolia Surprice-pacages from
Magnolia-Licious, and got these stamps (plus one mini Edwin).
I made this card for my sister.

I think the paper is from Prima. I used some old book pages
(and I mean old, the pages have aged naturally!), a doily and some
jute ribbon and lace, both from Ribbon Girl.

Tilda was colored with Distress Reinkers. Totally out of practice,
so I was not very happy with her hair.
I like the flowers though.
They are from Ribbon Girl and Wild Orchic Crafts.

This big flower and the glitter gems are both from Prima.
I also used a white leafe.

I hope all my blogging friends are doing wonderful.
I myself am very busy as I have started working as a teacher
in 7th grade (11-12 year olds). Its exhausting, but I love it!
So even if there have been little blogging, and I dont think it will pick
up that much, I still plan on blogging whenever I make something.
Hope you still visit. :)

Baby Girl Sweetness

So it seems I have been in a blog-hibernation.
Almost two months since my last post.
I have spent my summer working as a maid in a hotel,
very busy work indeed, and very hard work,
so I simply have had little energy left for creativity.

Today I have a day off, and I think perhaps I'll try to
make a card or two. In the meantime I can show you
a card I made earlier this spring/summer for the second
of my baby nieces when she was born.

The papers are all from Maja design,
and I used several doilies.

The ribbons, lace, cloth, pearls, string and button are all from
Ribbon Girl.
I also used a swirl die cut from Magnolia,
and the roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The teal flower is from
a store called Nille.

I inked the Magnolia Image up with Distress Reinkers,
misted with Chalkboard Glimmer Mist,
and added Star Dust Stickles.

A couple of little teddy bear charms.

The letters are from Prima, and Here is another Doohickey Die Cut.

Vintage Summer Birthday Tilda

Just a little brag at first:
My exams went very well! Got an A and a B,
and I also got an A for Christmas, so this last year was my very best
yet! I had to get a summer job as a maid in a hotel,
witch is kind of an anti climax when I finished a four year education,
but since there is no teaching to be done in summer...

A woman ordered this card from me for her sister
who turned 50.

Again with the Maja Papers...
Just love pin stripes and dots!

Tilda was inked with Distress Reinkers,
and I used Star Dust Stickles and Liquid Pearl.

I used a big metal corner, I covered it with gesso and Rock Candy Crackle Paint.

The Ribbon, string, cloth and pearls are from Ribbon Girl.

The lace and pin note holder is also from Ribbon Girl.
I used my Martha Stewart edge puncher,
and the crown pin and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The letters are from Prima.
The Star is a Magnolia Doohickey, and I tied a heart charm to it.

Butterfly Spring Tilda

One of my fiancees cousins needed a card for the girl he has
his eyes on, so he asked me to make one for him. She's foreign,
they are meeting in Barcelona, so romantic. :)

I used papers from Maja Design, Poppydesign and Inkido,
and I used a doily and lace. I added pearls from Ribbon Girl,
and the butterfly is mnade from my Martha Stewart puncher.

I inked Tilda up with my Distress Re-Inkers,
I think this was a combination of Dusty Concord and Wethered Wood.
I used Star Dust Stickles, Liquid Pearls, and Chalkboard Glimmer Mist.
The letter are from Making Memories.

The big mint-green-blueish flowers I got at Nille, they are actually for
table decorating. Love them!
The rest of the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I used my Magnolia Doohickey Swirl,
and added lots of Star Dust Stickles on them and on the image.

These Magnolia tags where embellished with left over ribbons
and sentiments from Lili of the Valley.

Challenges:
(I have it all except Edwin, but lets go with pearls, flowers, doily).

For a baptism

This Saturday the first of my nieces is getting baptised,
so I needed to have a card ready for that.

The papers are all from Maja Design. I also used doilies, and
my Marthe Stewart Lace edge puncher.

The flowers and pins are from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The rustic heart, lace, cloth and seam binding ribbon I got at Ribbon Girl.
I rarely use my own handwriting on my crafting,
but it will do for this time.

I added round pearls and flat back pearls to the ribbon,

Buttons from Ribbon Girl,
and charms on a twine string from RG too.

I think this big flower is from Prima. I added some Star Dust Stickles,
and a crystal pendant. The leafes are Magnolia Doohickeys,
cut out from an old book page.

The Ribbon Girl Magnolia Only Challenge *GDT*

This feels so strange, but I can now announce that (pending on my final grades)
I have finished school! I now hold the title in Norway called
adjunkt, meaning I am a teacher with four years of higher education.
I have to say, I am proud of myself. I actually made it!
Jobhunting is so far not looking up, it was a bit of an anti climax
when I delivered my very last exam for this time, and realised
I am no longer a student, I am simply unemployed.
So I have called around and are on the lists when there are need for subs,
and have applied for every available position.

Today I want to show you a card I made as guest designer
for one of my favourite stores/blogs, The Ribbon Girl!
This Magnolia Only Challenge we want to see birthday cards.
Easy peasy, and perfect too, as there are some comming up that
I need to get cards ready for.

Ribbon Girl goodies used:

Tilda was colored With Distress Reinkers,
This time I kept it light. No shading anywhere
ecept her hair. And I still dont like the curls,
they are just impossible. But I guess I have not practiced
my coloring that much lately either.
I added a lot of Star Dust Stickles,
of course.

I used a letter A charm, and a doily.

The sentiment is from Papirloftet,
it used to be my favourite scrap store,
but it closed a while ago.

I got myself some of those paper straws on Ebay,
and I made them into flagpoles using pins from Wild Orchid Crafts.
I love that lace, so I added some on the flags.

Water Lily Tilda

This card was made in a real hurry, I used about 20 minutes,
not counting the coloring as that was done earlier.
It was for a girl in Sofie's kindergarten who celebrated her birthday
on Sunday. Her actual birthday was yesterday, the same day that my
newest niece was born! So a Baby Girl card is in the making. :)

The paper I used is from Websters Pages.
I layered with a doily,
and ribbon from Ribbon Girl.

This is the first time I colored this Tilda,
and while she is super cute,
she will not be a favourite of mine. I dont like coloring her hair,
and over all I found her difficult to paint.
I used my Distress Reinkers,
and tried for soft colors as if it was a summer night.

I embellished with Orchids from Wild Orchids Craft,
and a Hello Kitty Charm.

The letters are from Making Memories.
